Extremely pretty hand faceted Apatite rondelles 4mm in size, 15" strand. Good colour, clarity and shine. One of our favourite stones.
Apatite is named for the Greek word apate, which means "deceit", since Apatite is similar in appearance to many other minerals. - See more at: http://www.minerals.net/mineral/apatite.aspx#sthash.hT6z7w0U.dpuf

Apatite's name comes from the Greek word for 'deceit' since the gem can be mistaken for other stones. However it has a quite distinctive blue colour which makes it and extremely popular choice when looking for a blue stone in jewellery making. A proper bright blue or sea green, it is very beautiful.
